"Green As!"

Welcome back to 2013! We are having a blast with the new year of Envirogroup. We have been talking about putting a pathway through the native area and creating an entrance gateway with the $500 grant we received form Fonterra. We have just finished our worm farm setup!!! We had a big blue tarpaulin and put everything on it. We put down some shade cloth to let all the worm pee so it can run down the bath and put on our crops. We went through all the worm poo and we put it back in. We have been given lots of seeds and also collected seed from our native plants we now have caprosma, kowhai, flax, Karo, Nikau and more. This year we have also laid down a DOC trap kindly donated to us from the Wharekawa Catchment Care Group, so far we have caught a mouse, hedgehog and and two very fat rats. >a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfyYu7UmOImrRunhyphenhyphenIO0fFIGSRlHmwVAEprvknssmS1XIJ_ArTjIvrbLCqKAjoF7xs9x2hJPMdA5cuSL4nIPJglusj_YvdqOVIDxMdBwrm4A_ahEM9IelUy79z-URZ-Hb_CW9C6FV6oiA4/s1600/DSCF5397.JPG" imageanchor="1" > A big thank you to Whangamata Dance Studio for donating 4 new colour coded bins for recycling. We have downloaded labels and attached these to the bins. We are looking forward to the organised Enviroschool tour coming to visit our school next week. We have lots to share.
